The Supreme Court has returned governor Dauda Lawal as the duly elected governor of Zamfara state. The apex court in a landmark ruling, set aside, the judgement of the Appeal Court which had declared the governorship election inconclusive and ordered a re-run in three local government areas of the state. The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has declared the Zamfara State governorship election inconclusive. The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared Dauda Lawal of the Peoples Democratic Party winner of the election.
