SAN Ikwueto: We would continue with a witness today, professor are you here.
Justice Tsammani: That’s witness on number 8
SAN Ikwueto: Yes my lord.
INEC’s lawyer Mahmoud interjects INEC: My lord we were just given the document for this witness this morning and he’s an expert witness and his deposition is over 8 pages. We would not be able to accept the witness today. We would have his cross examination tomorrow.
Tinubu’s and Shettima Lawyer Olanipekun is up O: My lord, just as you were coming in, I was given this witness deposition. I was just given it now. We want to cooperate but we would not have cross examination today but tomorrow. I crave your indulgence my lord.
APC lawyer cuts in Fagbemi: My lord it is the same situation here, we were served just about the time my lords were coming in and all indications point that this witness is an expert witness and we need time to properly understand and respond appropriately to his witness statements. I therefore align myself with the suggestions put forward by counsels already that subject to your lordships provision, this witness should be taken tomorrow and not today. ‘Hmmm… Objection Objection, everyday’
LP: I accept the suggestion. Court: Go on. (Witness swears) (Court laughs because the court staff leading the swearing seems to stutter continuously when trying to pronounce a phrase “solemnly swears”)

W: That is correct
LP: If you see a copy will recognize it?
W: I believe I have my signature and there are relevant sections if I see I will recognize.

W: That is correct

W: Yes that is correct
