INEC staff charge 1k to register voters (Images, Video)

Stranded and agrieved PVC registrants

Nigerians were urged to visit various INEC offices as to get themselves registered and obtain their Permanent voters card (PVC) . Some who have registered were asked to kindly visit and get their own PVC either transfered to their preferred zone or collect it.

You’d recall thatĀ INEC extended the voters registration exercise date to August 31stĀ as to enable those who haven’t done theirs to do so.

However , the case is not same everywhere as jkcyno news agents stormed the INEC office in Amawbia, Anambra state to ascertain the situation at hand only to find people Stranded and grieving.

With only two days remaining to round off the exercise, some of the staff of INEC in that zone were demanding for the some of 1,000 naira for anyone that wishes to get captured. The ones that refuse to pay the amount would have to write their names on the list which they would end up not attended to or most probably very slowly.

Painfully enough, those trying to collect their PVCs weren’t attended to or would have to pay to get it.

I wondered if that’s applicable to other parts of the states. Many persons would definitely be disenfranchised at the end of the day if this isn’t addressed.
