A Promise KEEPER
In keeping with his promise made on February 15, 2024, during World Sick Week, Mr. @PeterObi demonstrated his commitment by returning to the Tungan Madaki Primary Healthcare Centre in Abuja on March 30, 2024. There, he presented a 2 million Naira cheque to support the facility’s upgrade, offered assistance to the lead nurse, engaged with community leaders, and provided aid to the community. Mr. Obi’s decision was influenced by his direct experience of the challenges within the healthcare sector, reflecting his track record of accomplishments in education and health governance.
This dedication to enacting positive changes is evident in his nationwide tour during Ramadan, particularly in Northern Nigeria. The state of primary healthcare centers across the country is a cause for concern, with less than 10% operating effectively and over 50% in disrepair.

Mr. Obi’s commitment to providing financial assistance aims to address these systemic issues at the Tungan Madaki Primary Healthcare Centre. He emphasized the responsibility of public leaders to ensure the country works regardless of season and being in office or not. Also, the importance of a healthy population for national development and advocates for investment in a robust healthcare system accessible to all citizens. Mr. @PeterObi embodies the promise of a new Nigeria.
