In less than 6 months in office, His Excellency Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has proven that he was prepared for governance by commissioning three roads in Aba.
He wrote thus on his Twitter handle :
“Yesterday, we commissioned the Cemetry Road, Shalom Road, and Emelogu Road projects, marking a significant step towards our mission of rebuilding Aba. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the people of Aba for their unwavering support and steadfast belief in our vision. In return for this trust, we are committed to delivering world-class infrastructure, implementing impactful social investment programs, and driving economic expansion. Our ultimate objective is to eradicate mediocrity and foster the transformation of Aba into a thriving commercial hub.
These road projects represent only the initial phase of our ambitious plans for Aba, which is poised to become an attractive investment destination and a veritable goldmine of opportunities.

We are actively pursuing avenues to attract private investors, enhance transportation systems, and establish recreational facilities and ICT-innovation parks. In this endeavor, we call upon the residents to provide steadfast support through tax compliance, responsible waste disposal, and collaboration with security agencies.
We sternly caution against any form of extortion and affirm our commitment to address such activities in strict accordance with the law. Furthermore, we are resolute in our determination to fortify security systems and ensure the safety of lives and property. Together, let us continue to rally behind the vision of a prosperous Aba….. ”

I am not one of those that clap at any scene from a Governor commissioning road projects but there’s something different here.
Hang on…..
Only in Nigeria would people clap at their leaders for building a road or school or even hospital… And i ask, what were they voted to do at the first instance?

You see, Nigerians don’t actually demand much from her leaders yet these wicked and evil leaders end up doing nothing for a whopping 8 years.
Ordinary basic amenities…. Very ordinary yet such a herculean task in Nigeria.
No wonder, A Desmond Elliot, a state law maker in Lagos would Commission a mobile toilet facility in Surulere LGA and call for celebration.
Who did this to us in Nigeria?
Now, why am i happy with Alex Otti?
He did these in 3 months whilst some Governors can’t do same in 8 years.
Like in Anambra state, Governor Willie Obiano deliberately left all the roads built by Peter Obi and Chris Ngige to dilapidate….
Anambra state used to have the best road network in the south East, unfortunately, it’s not same anymore…
As for Soludo , i don’t know what to say…
