Messi and Ronaldo will face off in the Champions League knockout stages
The UEFA Champions League last 16 draw is took place in Nyon, Switzerland, this Monday December 13 with the ceremony getting underway at 6:00 a.m. ET. live on Paramount+ and CBS HQ. There are 16 teams in the draw after the UCL group stage with group winners considered as the seeded teams and the runners-up unseeded. Following that we’ll have Europa League and Europa Conference League draws as well.

No clubs from the same national association can meet, nor can teams who already met in the group stage be drawn together again.

Last 16 ties are over two legs with the seeded team playing at home in the return match.
The first legs of these last 16 ties will take place on February 15, 16, 22 or 23 with the second legs coming on March 8, 9, 15 or 16 and ALL will be 3:00 p.m. ET kick-offs.
Away goals no longer exist. Any ties which are level after 180 minutes of play will go to extra time regardless of how many goals have been scored in either leg. If 30 additional minutes do not produce a clear winner, penalties will decide.
Whats next on the Champions League schedule?
The quarterfinal, semifinal and final draw will take place on March 18.
The last 16, quarterfinal and semifinal draws all lead the teams towards Saint Petersburg’s Gazprom Arena which will host the 2021-22 Champions League on May 28.
