Like the ruling on “Naira Redesign,” the Supreme Court judgement on LGA Financial Autonomy is for the politicians.
When was the last time the government went to court for the interest of the masses?
Many of you don’t see it, but I do. I like to play the Devil’s Advocate, because I can. I see the patterns, others don’t.
I know that most Nigerians don’t think. They need others to think for them; tell them what to do. So I will break it down (as much as I can).
LGA Autonomy is the highest game godfathers played. While James Ibori & some others are kicking, others are celebrating. There is a silent war going on among the Class of ‘99 Governors.
It’s about who controls what, & who gets what?
Local Government Area Authorities stopped working around 20 years ago. The Class of ‘99 Governors finished their 8 years, & decided to continue their grip on power, & the cookie jar.
Some of them still alive today are godfathers in their respective states. While some will lose, others will gain.
LGA Financial Autonomy is a grand-scheme, the legitimate means the “All-Father” gets to consolidate his grip on Nigeria. Those who won’t toe the line will have their political futures marooned.

There is a new set of godfathers now, & they won’t allow the Class of ‘99 to upset the status quo. You can tell that El-Rufai is not happy with the judgement. But Wike & his men (the sacked Rivers council chairmen are).
At the core of that judgement is the FCT Minister & Asiwaju himself. They are “the FG” that went to court through the AGF, Lateef Fagbemi SAN.
They are the people who stand to gain the most from it. While the judgement will effectively guarantee the “Class of ‘99 governors” the right to control their states via the LGAs. It’ll guarantee the new kids on the block (like Wike) the right to rule, & dominate public life.
You guys don’t see it just yet. The Supreme Court judgement is a ruse. A careful deception that grants them control of the Local Government Structures, against their insubordinate handpicked errand governors.
While it’s a Game of Thrones for the the control of Westeros & the Seven Kingdoms, it is legitimate, & happening.
In the end, in all of these developments, nothing will get down to the people. You’re the pawn in the chess godfathers play.
You guys celebrating the Supreme Court judgement on LGA Autonomy, are babies. How will the ruling stop the governors & their godfathers from installing their puppets as chairmen & councilors? You guys are cheap & excitable. Fix your Institutions, & strongmen will disappear.

Wike will handpick the chairmen & councilors. He’ll even boast of paying for their nomination forms. No chairman gets picked in Lagos without Tinubu’s input more or less. Where is the Local Government Autonomy in that? Fix your Institutions, & stop deceiving yourselves.
You were not the reason the judgement was delivered. It is the continuation of IGR for themselves & their men. A perpetuation of their grip on power.
I’ll digress a bit. The Ministry of Livestock Development will take the number of Ministers to 50. You have the Proposals for the creation of Tiga, Anioma, Orlu & Etiti states.
They are creating more & more states, expanding the bureaucracy & IGR in their pockets. IGR is for the politicians, HDI is for the masses. HDI are education, healthcare, access to clean water, & the standard of living.
Who do you think will benefit from LGA Autonomy, & the creation of new states?
