Nigerians, especially members of the Obidients movement, must make informed and decisive choices, remaining focused on the substantial issues at hand. We should not allow ourselves to be swayed by superficial distractions or political maneuvering, as the Federal Government’s decision to further increase electricity prices is a critical issue that demands our undivided attention. It is highly condemnable as it exacerbates the dire economic situation faced by millions of Nigerians.
The Minister of Power’s assertion that this hike is necessary for eliminating subsidies and attracting investment is deeply flawed. Instead of burdening the people, the government should address corruption, mismanagement, and inadequate infrastructure in the power sector.
The claim of sensitivity to the people’s plight rings hollow in the face of such a regressive policy. Prioritizing measures to alleviate poverty and improve access to essential services like electricity is crucial. This decision does not serve the best interests of Nigerians, and we vehemently oppose it.

The betrayal by the National Assembly is glaring, as they are empowered to regulate and sanction such abuses. This madness could be reversed through legislation if they cared. Nigerians should not be forced to fund infrastructure for a commercial enterprise. This tariff hike is callous, heartless, and unjustified.
The President’s abuse of power must be stopped through constitutional means. It’s time for action to prevent further suffering and exploitation by a political class driven by personal gain. We must rise against this trend and use every available means to protect our rights. It’s our responsibility to stop this executive’s rascality and demand accountability.
