Mark Angel used paper work to bamboozle her parents and gave them 1.5M settlement, they still don’t know it was a lifetime payment for their daughter.
All the articles online about Mark Angel on how he started and how he ‘discovered’ Emmanuella, are wrong.
So, the name ‘Mark Angel’ was given to him by Denilson Igwe, coined from the popular 2000’s magic show, Chris Angel Mindfreak. You remember the show?
It was also Denilson Igwe that discovered Emmanuella. Basically, Denilson Igwe discovered Mark Angel, Emmanuella and Mark Angel Comedy (formerly Mechanic Comedy).

So, Igwe was an orphan. And was given to Mark’s parents for them to take care of him, live with them as houseboy. The only mother Denilson Igwe knew, was Mark Angel’s mother. Mark Angel loved his mom more than his Father. But..
When she died, Mark Angel her son didn’t show up. Instead claims he was in Australia and when he came back they ‘kidnapped’ him. Now, his father and brother live in uncompleted building.
How the comedy started.
Denilson Igwe used to be a natural orator at a very young age. He loved talking and making jokes.
So, one day his friend told him about how he wanted take his sister’s handkerchief, but mistakenly picked her pant. When Denilson heard it, it was very very funny to him. So, he told Mark. Mark at the time had dropped out of school due to lack of interest, and was working as a security guard at a restaurant in Port Harcourt.
Mark heard the pant joke it and said it’s rubbish.
So, Denilson who was a house boy and a church boy at the time, had developed interest in media production (Camera, light, sound). In church, he usually assist their camera man. For instance, when the cameraman sets the camera at a position, he’d tell Denilson to be watching it.
He kept watching, and learning with his eyes. So as he was learning and growing up, he had access to church camera equipments.

After he heard that pant story, he decided to recreate it as a short video for fun. He did it, showed Mark. Mark still wasn’t interested. But, Denilson was just doing it for fun, so he shared to his friends, they all laugh and liked it. He then did more. Until one bar manager noticed him and said he should come and be performing at his bar, and he’d be paying him 10k. Then, he was operating as (Mechanic Comedy)
This was when Mark Angel realized that the skit thing is real and had potentials.
So, Mark resigned from his security job and decided to join Denilson Igwe. That’s how Mark entered comedy / content creation.
But, the story on many blogs is that. Mark Angel went to India to learn cinematography in 2011, he has a film school, he owns Mechanic Comedy, he dropped out of medical college because of funds, and infact. He used to write comedy scripts for comedians, shoot video and pictures for them. That’s when he realized he had the talent and then decided to start his own Mark Angel comedy.
According to Denilson Igwe, all of these are false. Because they got their first international passport in 2016. Unless Mark travelled to India without a passport in 2011.
Denilson says, Mark Angel is a PR genius.
That’s why you can’t see any original story about his history online. Which is actually true, if you go online. Wiki, every article claims Mark Angel was named “Mark Angel” from birth. And And Emmanuella too is his niece with birth surname ‘Angel’. I mean, this is Nigeria, it’s not even possible to have such a name as surname. Unless Bayelsa people who bear interesting names.
Now how was Emmanuella discovered?
Simple, Emmanuella was a talkative, the daughter of their mothers friend.. She kept disturbing that she wanted to come and do holiday at their place.

She finally came. So one day.. the family went out and Denilson the house boy was home doing chores. He decided to make another skit from one of his many ideas. Since Emmanuella was already a talkative. He asked her to read some lines, she did it over and over until she got it. And when she got it, it was perfect. The video went viral, according to the understanding of ‘viral’ at the time. They did about two more videos, then Mark Angel saw her potentials and hijacked the whole thing.
But Mark Angel says he discovered her (his niece) from his film foundation.
That was how Emmanuella started comedy.
So, Mark saw this and told Denilson that he should stop doing videos with Emmanuella. That he wants to build a brand around her. Mark is older than Igwe with 5 yrs. So, he’s like an elder brother, plus Igwe was living in their house, with utmost naivety and innocence. He had no choice but to agree.
That was how the Mark Angel Comedy empire started.
Mark Angel brought the Biz in ShowBiz. While Denilson only brought the Show. A perfect blend that could have been limitless.
Fast forward, they became popular. Mark Angel was buying cars, properties…while Denilson Igwe and Emmanuella were working for free. When Denilson asked, Mark will say they are gifts, and all the shows and invitations they went for is only for recognition, that they don’t pay them. Denilson loved what he was doing, so he kept doing it.
Until it became too obvious that, clearly there is money coming from this business. In 2016 the first time they travelled abroad to Ghana. Mark insisted that they were not paid. But Denilson pressured Mark, Mark finally gave him his first 50k.
They’ve been invited to a lot of countries. A lot. Mark doesn’t allow Denilson go. He’d insist that it’s only Him and Emmanuella they want.
One day, the got invited to Gambia by the president of Gambia’s sister. This one, they asked for Denilson too. So he followed. When they got there. Denilson already believed that these things were free of charge lol. But as the celebrities gathered, he overheard that Wizkid was paid $40k for his appearance.

He was in total shock. So, after the event. He told Mark that, it doesn’t make sense that these people will invite us and the only thing we’d take home is pictures.
Mark already perfect he had spoken to others. Then, Mark said the paid them $5,000 and then he gave him $100. His second payment of all time, even though at this point they were making around $160k monthly from YouTube alone. ONLY YOUTUBE! And they had 8 pages!
They (Mark & Emma) traveled to Australia without him, where Emmanuella was crowned Princess of Africa. When they came back, Same story. Mark said they didn’t pay them.
But obviously. Things “dey sup”. So, he hinted Emmanuella’s folks about it. That was when they forced Mark to draw up a contract and be paying Emmanuella 20k per month.
One time they were invited to Guyana (a Small South American country). The hosts wanted Denilson to appear too.
So, he used this as an opportunity to demand payment from Mark Angel. He said he’s not going unless Mark pays him reasonable money. The matter was dragged to police station. At the end, Mark offered to pay 10M Naira. Which he spread across 3years.
Emmanuella’s brother too demanded for more for his sister, Mark locked him up with Nigerian police. When the case was settled, Mark paid Mr Nwagbo (Emmanuella’s father) 1.5M, asked them to sign a document that make him (Mark) her official guardian, and he’d provide for her and house her.
They didn’t know what they were signing. But they signed. (We don’t know the duration of the contract, but Denilson suggested it was a brutal slave contract)
In 2019, Denilson had a child. And told Mark to please put him on salary because he now has a family. Hmmm..
This part is sad.
Mark agreed to pay him 200k per month. And made him sign a contract that says “He Denilson Igwe didn’t start the comedy. He has no rights to the contents. He is only a staff to Mark Angel. He also agrees that the 200k they will be paying him is more than what he deserves.”
Finally! In the contract, Mark added a clause that Denilson Igwe will never ever sue him for any claims on funds, content, damages etc. BRUTAL!
Denilson Igwe who was desperate, unfortunately signed.
Clearly it wasn’t sustainable. So, he stopped working with Mark Angel to focus on his hand job. But when things got hard, he’d reach out to mark. Mark will pay him 100k for any video they did.
When he finally left Mark Angel Comedy. He suspected that his Instagram, YouTube, Facebook pages were hacked the same time by Mark.
And Mark tried to smartly wipe him away. So, in their new videos. Mark will change his name from “Denilson” to “Denison” so that if you search for “Denison” you won’t see the real “Denilson”. At a point, Mark Angel told Denilson that he made him who he is.
This takes us to Emmauella social media.
Denilson insisted that Emmanuella used an android phone, has only 25k in her opay bank account as at last week. And infact, the kid doesn’t have access to her social media accounts.
That anything we see online about Emmanuella, was posted by Mark Angel. Including the provoking sexual video that went viral which Mark Angel came to apologize for. Apparently, he was the one who asked Emmanuella to do the dance, posted it himself, apologized himself.💀💀
The Ned Nwoko marriage allegations on Emmanuella too was spread by Mark, for publicity.
Denilson Igwe called two people live on the show to confirm his claims. One is an active member of Mark Angel comedy, who was lamenting that his house rent expires this month and doesn’t know what to do.
As for the sexual abuse allegations, he says there are too many boys around Emmanuella. And he can’t say the things happening there, that one day Emmanuella will speak up by herself.
Even while speaking in the podcast, he was visibly frightened.
Denilson Igwe is now into real estate, does his hand work, and is pushing his own content crew. This time, with proper legal counsel.
Summarily, Mark Angel didn’t start the comedy. He didn’t discover Emmanuella. Emmanuella is not related to him. Their surname is not ‘Angel’ but Ebere and Nwaebo, respectively. From Orlu and Mbaise, Imo state, respectively. Mark is tied to occultism, that’s why no one can speak against him.
