Nigerians woke to a rather amusing and unfortunate news of a lawmaker pushing a bill to criminalize a legitimate right of a citizen of Nigeria, PEACEFUL PROTEST.
Aside that absurd bill, they also want to criminalize anyone who can’t recite the New/old National anthem Tinubu re-introduced.
First, do these Lawmakers realize that it was Nigerians at each zones across the nation that elected (presumably) them to carry their opinions to the green and red chamber?
Whose bidding are they currently doing, the People’s bidding or theirs?

• Vandalize Church/Mosque – ₦5M, 10yrs jail.
• Illegal Road Block – ₦2M, 5yrs jail.
• Protest – ₦2M, 5yrs jail.
• Insult Government, Pastors, Imams – ₦4M, 2yrs jail.
• Separatist Agitation (IPOB, Oduduwa) – ₦5M, 10yrs jail.
• Allegiance with Enemies of the Nation – ₦15M, 20yrs jail.
• Rebel against law, authority, refuse arrest – ₦5M, 7yrs jail.
• Operate Paramilitary Group, Cult – ₦10M, 15yrs jail.
• Possess, Use Military, Police Uniform – ₦2M, 2yrs jail.
The bill has scaled first reading, now up for debate in second reading.
Many Nigerians believe if this bill is passed, it will be the end of Nigeria’s “democracy”.
In all these…. Did you see these men talk anything about criminalizing any corrupt politicians, looters or bad governance?..
