Sanwo-Olu finally gives order on the Reopening dates for Churches, Mosques

 

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has given dates for Mosques and Churches to reopen for worship in the State with some guidelines.

Lagos Governor made this known while briefing the people of the State on Thursday, 4th of June, 2020.

Sanwo-Olu hinted that security personnel will be going round to monitor how these religious bodies will comply with the COVID-19 protocols.

The governor said that Mosques in the State can now open on the 19th of June, while Churches will now open on 21st June.

According to him only 40% capacity is allowed in the facilities. And that for large gatherings, no facility must take more than 500 people.

He also said that children below 15 years of age and elderly people above 65 years of age should stay away from Churches and Mosques.

He advised that anyone without face masks should not be allowed to enter any place of worship.

Sanwo-Olu also said that there should be no communion service and sharing of foods during these gatherings.

Only Sundays and Fridays Worship are allowed for now, every other regular programme remained suspended.

Fumigation of premises and other hygienic protocol should be observed.
