Today, the 1st of August, 2024 Kickstarted the most anticipated and well publicized protest in Nigeria termed : #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria.
This protest didn’t come in a hurry at all. About a month’s notice was given to the government.
But rather than engage the organizers calmly to really find out how to avert it, all kinds of deflective theories were introduced. Starting from the one that Igbos were planning to burn 🔥 down Lagos State to the one that the opposition parties are seeking to dethrone the President. Later, that the organizers are disgruntled foreign countries.
And their solution was to get the traditional rulers to Abuja, and request them to go and warn their subjects. Followed by a cacophony of Ministers boasting that the protesters are ill advised. Later, the Courts were used to restrict the protest to some designated venues. And the security forces boasted that they would stop any protest not in line with the law.
The last that showed lack of how to handle the protest was giving state governments bags of rice to distribute to the hungry Nigerians. When that happened, I knew the game plan was negative. And it was confirmed today.
What really happened today?

ALMIGHTY ABUJA OF WIKE’S KINGDOM….
Minister Nyesom wike was one of the many Tinubu’s men that Infuriated Nigerians the most, maybe only second to the garrulous Godswill Akpabio.
The Police tried to get the Protesters into a National stadium at Abuja but it didn’t go down well..
The Police later used tear gas to disperse the protesters…
Meanwhile, we saw some Politicians running out of Abuja when the atmosphere charged…

In lagos, the flash point was Lekki toll gate where there were heavy Police presence in the morning, forcing passersby to keep moving.
Even journalists were spared as a News Central reporter was harassed on live reportage.
Protesters in Abuja very close to Aso Rock were seen reciting the Original National Anthem.

This was Sokoto state were protesters took it to the Palace of the Sultan. You’d remember he was amongst the Traditional rulers Tinubu invited for group meeting at his Aso Rock.

Prophet Isa El-buba led an overwhelming crowd of protesters in Jos, Plateau state today in a very peaceful protest.
Ordinarily, Nigerians are very good people, especially the youths, it’s actually the greedy and evil politicians that remind the gullible ones of their religion and tribe.
This is Rivers state, the Niger Delta that Asari Dokubo threatened Nigerians on Live Tv, Nigerians react (video)…
Nonsense and ingredients….. They showed him that he doesn’t own Niger Delta….. His subscription money was in vain.

The state government don rush release statement below :
“GOVERNMENT SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
The Edo State Government has received information about the looting of bags of rice from unidentified truck and private residences in parts of Benin City in the wake of the #EndBadGovernance protests.
The videos making the rounds are said to have emanated from the Urora axis of Ikpoba Hill, Benin City, and government does not have a warehouse in that location.
The government supports the vulnerable with relief materials through religious organisations particularly the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and the Edo State Muslims Pilgrim Welfare Board.
The State government does not keep any relief material by itself but reaches out to the people through these channels.
We will not put this tactic past the All Progressives Congress (APC), which is spreading malicious content to score cheap political points. This condemnable action is intended to cause chaos in the state and the APC is discouraged from such ignoble practice.
The public is enjoined to disregard the malicious message that these people are trying to send with the video.
We want to once again urge protesters not to attack or destroy the property of others as they go about their demonstration in a peaceful and orderly manner.
