We live in a society where most citizens don’t understand the meaning of HDI (human development index). To an average Nigerian, once you tare a road or build a fly over, you have performed well even when those road infrastructure (though necessary) wouldn’t add much to the HDI of the society involved. In developed nations, they build a quality road infrastructure that would last for decades such that other successive governments would focus of developing individuals not talking about building roads in 21st century as an achievements. The Presidents even fly jets to go Commission roads(such unfortunate ritual in Nigeria).
Peter Obi, Tinubu, Fashola, others were judged using the HDI during their respective terms in office and Peter Obi rose higher above them all.
