However, fortune has been smiling their way as some individuals and corporate organizations have been making donations to the victims.
Meanwhile, the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha deemed it feat to recognize them…

With gratitude to God, and on behalf of the priests, the religious and the good people of Onitsha Archdiocese who contributed generously, we as a family of God in Onitsha Archdiocese, are today offering our spiritual and financial support to the victims of the fire outbreak in Onitsha that destroyed properties and lives, on the 16th of October, 2019.
The Onitsha Archdiocese after celebrating the Holy Mass at the Market today, to hand over the victims to God, also will distribute the financial support of 27 million naira to all the affected individuals without discrimination or favour of any religion because we are all the Children of one God. To those wounded, I pray for God’s divine healing and to those who lost their lives, we continue to pray God to accept them among His saints and console the family. Amen.
