Nigeria is actually looking so frail and bleak at the moment with all hopes of her getting better looking increasingly dicey.
First, “what do you make of a family whose kids are dying of hunger, some sent out of school, some kidnapped etc and the father abandons them to travel out to England 🏴 for a medical tourism”?….. Barbaric!
Anyways, that’s not the major aim of this wake up update.
Nigeria is glaringly looking set for a major shut down if nothing is done so fast.
Every aspect of the economy is bleeding profusely. Never have we had it this bad and no one is talking to the right sector… No one is actually “occupying the streets of Ojota”.
Let’s start from the few major of the numerous cancerous aspects of the economy ready to ignite the shut down fire 🔥.
1. ASUU : The Academic Staff members of the university have been on strike for over a month which has been elongated for more months raising a red flag 🚩 that these leaders don’t care about the education sector of the nation. Why would they? All their wards are abroad enjoying quality and steady education,why would they care?….
Unfortunately, the longer these students are kept away from school, the more they are getting closer to crime and getting more depressed.
2. Police : This is the height of it where the security outfits threaten to embark on strike. Nigeria Police had threatened To Go On 2-Week Strike Over Salary, Outdated Weapons. Such an unfortunate situation not withstanding the Billions purportedly been pumped into the security budget……This is just an open letter to Criminals to go on rampage. “Tụfịakwa”.

3. Power Grid : The National grid on Monday experienced its second collapse in 2022 resulting in blackout across the country.
The states affected include Lagos, Enugu, Kaduna, Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States, among others.
Confirming the development in a text message to its customers, The Eko Electricity Distribution Company, said that the system collapse occurred on the national grid at 10:40 am.
“Dear esteemed customer, a system collapse occurred on the national grid at 10:40 am today, leading to outages across our network.
“We are working on the situation with our TCN partners and will keep you updated. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.” the text message read.
Also, Kaduna Electricity, on Monday, while confirming the system collapsed, assured its customers that power would soon be restored.
“We regret to inform you that the power outage being experienced in our franchise states is due to System Collapse of the National Grid which occurred at about 10:40 am,” the firm said.
Meanwhile, GenCos are threatening to shut down the economy if Trillion of naira owed them isn’t remitted.
4. Aviation : This sector is the worst hit at the current fuel crisis as Aviation fuel hits the roof without recourse to its effect on the economy.
All airlines in Nigeria will be shut down in 3 days time as said by Allen Onyema, the CEO of Airpeace airlines.
Welcome to Nigeria.
5. Pure water price hike : This is a very uncommon issue as it relates more to the middle class in the society. Recently, the prices for the sachet water (pure water) hit the roof as a single pure water is sold for 20 naira as one bag goes as high as 300naira.
On Friday 12th Feb, 2022 , Pure water producers association in Anambra State embarked on a strike citing the high cost of their production materials making most residents seek for alternative to water…… What could be alternative to portable water?….. To even imagine that the government used to provide portable water to the citizens so many years ago….currently, it’s a forgone issue.
6. Fuel crisis :The government slowly and swiftly increased the petrol pump price to 230 naira per litre or would i say, any amount one deems fit without any regulation as against the N162 per litre before the funny bad fuel importation. Unfortunately, the subsidy is still ongoing and the prices have risen like PB.
People are currently passing through excruciating pain in Nigeria.
I intentionally didn’t wish to mention insecurity.

In all these, the most important and pressing needs of our dear leaders are “party chairmanship tussle” and “convention”.
Please, how are Nigerians (aside Politicians and their children) still maintain their sanity currently?
