Bello Galadanchi, a skitmaker popularly known as Dan Bello has revealed how a Kano politician, Garba Kwankwaso stole a whooping sum of N7.7billion annually from Kano citizens under the guise of offering health care delivery to Kano citizens.
Bello made this shocking revelation in a video he shared on his official X handle on Saturday.
Bello stated, “We’ve uncovered some past theft of public funds but what about ongoing wrong doings.Let me explain how government procurement contracts works.
“If the government is buying something from you, you won’t be paid until you delivered the goods or services.There is also a process of offering tenders and companies can bid for the contract.
“Let me introduce you to 44 local government in Kano that are forced to pay monthly for medicine. The fee is a monthly 10 million naira before taxes.
“Let’s recap. No product or service, no money. Contract require tender and bidding. Here is a message by a local government authority leader to all Kano LG Chairmen;
“‘Hello family, good evening. Hope you’re all well. I’m directed to make this announcement that 10 million naira we paid, which we paid tax.All government should ensure due process, then select Novomed which will be the company to be awarded the contract.
‘I insist all local government will be checked tomorrow to ensure that it complies.Make sure you follow due process, compile and attach to the voucher. That’s the order. Ensure it’s done by tomorrow.May God protect our integrity and of our government.”
“I think we should look into the accounts of Novomed,” Bello said.
He continued, “Are the monies there?If we look carefully, there are LGs like Tofa, Bebeji, Danbatta, Dawakin Tofa, Doguwa, Kumbosto, Tudu Wada, Gezawa, Ungogo, Warawa, Kano, Kura,Ajingi, Madobi, Bichi, Gwarzo, Rogo, Garun Mallam, Takai, Shanono, Kiru, Makoda, Nasarawa and Gabasawa.
“Something’s fishy. We heard the leader calling everyone to choose Novomed.Secondly, this isn’t a contract because there are so many people who finished their contracts a long time ago but haven’t been paid.
“Some folks haven’t been paid for 10 years now. Let’s do the maths; 9,000,000 Naira × 44 Local Governments=396,000,000 per month.7,700,000,000 per year.This money was the medical bill of 235,000 people (20k each).
“Wait! Wait! Wait! Who owns Novomed. It’s Musa Garba Kwankwaso. He is the brother of Madugu NNPD national leader and a Godfather of Kano governor, Abba House House.
“My question is where is Kano State Anti-corruption Bureau? Why are you turning a blind eye to this obvious case of nepotism and likely fraud. Are you only after the government’s opposition. If that’s the case then get rid of suit and wear wear Agbada and red hats.
“If you’re not serious about fighting corruption, then you must also investigate this government that you are serving. If you’ve bought the medicine let’s see it,” Bello fired back.
