WHEN IT’S BETTER TO LET GO:
Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying, Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years… Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the Lord which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days. Isaiah 38:4-5, 39:8.
As I looked at the latter part of King Hezekiah’s life after he cried and pleaded for more years following the message of death from Isaiah to him, I saw fifteen years that should never have been. Though he got what he wanted for the moment but laid a foundation that destroyed the wellbeing of his next generation. He satisfied the immediate but lost the ultimate. I still see a lot of people make same mistake today in different areas of life. They rather sink with what has died due to name, fame, fear of the future or fear of human opinions. I have also seen those who dared the situations, took their destinies in their hands and ended as positive reference points.
