The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC had declared the Anambra state election inconclusive pending the outcome of the vote cast at the remaining local government, Ihiala. The supplementary poll is to be done tomorrow, Tuesday, 9th Nov, 2021.
Jkcyno news earlier reported that Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo of the APGA was already leading in the 17 local government area, PDP winning in Ogbaru LGA as YPP winning in Nnewi North with APC Winning in none.
Prof. Soludo of APGA as it stands is currently having a landslide winning regardless of the outcome of the supplementary election.
Do Anambra citizens have reasons to be worried?
Ordinarily, Anambra citizens both home and abroad should be worried citing what happened at Osun state after their state election was also declared inconclusive. See what happened at Osun, Breaking : INEC declared Osun state Election Inconclusive or what happened to Kano state or the latest Hope Uzodimma’s forceful declaration as the Govenor of Imo state by the Supreme court after he came 4th at the poll.
What did they actually do at Osun and Kano?
They decided to do manual accreditation at the supplementary local governments where they would simply thumbprint all the remaining ballot papers in favor of their rigging party….with that act, they overturned everything done at the elections. People’s mandate was stolen.
Wonderful……. Open day theft!!!
WHY IS ANAMBRA OWN GOING TO BE DIFFICULT AND DIFFERENT?
Anambra sate is a state whose citizens are very smart, resilient, stubborn and overtly ready to question the status quo, hence the ongoing mantra, “Anambra no be Imo”…!!!!
I want to categorically give it to INEC for the introduction of BVAS device system.
Yes, it has serious improvements to embark on but it’s a work in the right direction.
Sometimes, we have to give credence to the government when they seem to get it right and admonish them when they default.
“Ndi Anambra”, hear this, people’s choice and mandate was able to come to pass simply because INEC refused to use manual accreditation even when the BVAS wasn’t working as expected, most politicians were clamoring for a switch to manual accreditation which would give room for massive rigging.
How does BVAS work?
The device was built and designated to each polling units in every ward.
When a voter comes with a voters card, the APO (INEC adhoc staff) takes the card and input just the surname and all your details would appear. Failure to appear simply means, you didn’t register at that polling unit.
Even if you don’t have your voters card present or it wasn’t collected during the time of sharing for any reason, mention your name that’s all.
What if i mention another person’s name whom i am sure registered there, would i be able to vote?
Let me remind you that majority of the people making up the so called large registered voters have died but their data is still contained in that polling center.
If you mention your name or present your card, you would be required to place your fingerprint to be able to recognize you or take a photograph.
Either of the two should be able to identify you as the real owner of the card..
Only after that should you be accredited and head over to vote.
At the end of the day, the number of the accredited voters on the BVAS device must tally with the number of ballot papers of vote cast.
You see, that’s the major reason issues of ballot paper snatching or massive thumb printing wasn’t heard during the Saturday’s election.
Back to Ihiala LGA : (for people that love calculations)… 🤔
Mathematically: 42,942 (APC votes) + 51,322 (PDP votes) = 94,264
103,946 (APGA votes) – 94,264 (APC+PDP votes ) = 9,682
ie : the sum of votes garnered by the APC and PDP is 9,682 votes less than that of APGA alone.
Furthermore, subtracting the votes of the 1st runner up–PDP (51,322) from the votes of the present winner–APGA (103,946) gives a surplus of 52,624 votes.
Therefore, it is in order to say that APGA is categorically leading with huge margin, over the double of the amount of votes belonging to the party (PDP) next to it.
No matter what may happen, Ihiala LG supplementary election can only add-up but will not change APGA’s position on the result sheet.
For instance, the total votes cast in Ihiala LGA in the 2017 guber election was 29,796 and out of that, APC got 7,894, APGA got 14,379 and PDP took 4,706.
So I wonder what magic anyone may want to do to overturn the numbers considering the huge margin…
Therefore, it is proper to say CONGRATULATIONS to APGA.
having said all, i, Engr Echezonam Ibezim Jameskyrian, Nwa Igbo-ukwu is categorically saying…….. 😂 Go and buy palm wine from Udi and enjoy your victory in peace “ndi Anambra”……..
“Anambra indeed no be Imo”
