The trending case between Pastor Paul Enenche being Criticized for Declaring a lady’s testimony as Fake (video) is fast generating divergent views on the street of the social media.
@king Ifey Muonyili gave his own analysis on the subject matter on Facebook.
“If you remove legalese and highfalutin words, many lawyers cannot adequately express themselves in English. Don’t even get me started on the rigidity of some of their speaking styles—especially the males. 😀
In 2018, I worked with a lawyer in addressing her speaking problems. She wanted to travel abroad; however, she needed to improve her speaking skills to increase her communicative competence.
Some of us can only write ’fantastic English’—right grammar, wide vocabulary range and all. However, writing is only a part of the communication, and it is not even the most important.
Among the communication skills, speaking and listening are the most important. They supersede the other two in any language acquisition.

Not everyone is educated. However, people speak and listen to communicate. A lot of times, people believe that I am here to change people’s identity, or perhaps their identity .
I still maintain my stance on this proper language acquisition. Proper pronunciation always remains the key to smooth and effortless communication, and not accent.
Develop your pronunciation so you can communicate effectively. Currently, I work with two new Nigerians who live abroad.
I’ll share their stories in my subsequent posts. You will understand what’s quite important when you read their encounter.
My heart broke after watching the video of that lady who was tagged ‘fake’. I am happy that photo evidence has now surfaced online. I hope the school release a statement affirming that she graduated from the school.
If I were the pastor who said that, I would be mortified. I highly doubt that somebody could wake up, dress up to the nines, walk to the altar with all the strands of hair in her body standing tall with fright, and then pick the microphone just to tell a lie?
No, you don’t understand stage fright? During my degree project presentation at Unizik, one of my colleges nearly convulsed while facing the lecturers and professors. He could not express himself. He broke down there after mumbling things that seemed incomprehensible.
To have read from some people who shared the video reechoing the man of God’s stance and even going far to bully the lady, I just couldn’t help but empathize with that woman.
She seems to me like someone who wanted to go to school but didn’t have the opportunity and later got it, and decided to go as an adult. This could explain why she doesn’t speak so fluently as expected of a graduated.
However, how many graduates speak English fluently? Mind you, many who consider themselves fluent while they are in Nigeria, often immediately realises that they only write fluently but cannot be said to speak fluently. Why? Because their pronunciations of many words are hugely flawed.
Yes, Nigerians have thoroughly expanded vocabulary range. Yes, we understand the English grammar pretty well—at least I think a lot of us do on this space. However, many of us are still miles away from achieving communicative competence in speaking.
If when you speak, and English speakers who aren’t Nigerians cannot understand 90% of what you say, then know you haven’t reached that ‘fluent speech’.
I hope God fortifies that lady with enough strength to bounce back. If I were her, I would’ve gone for days without a meal, and never show my face around anywhere that church has its location. Each time the name of the pastor and the church are mentioned, I’ll get a compulsive heart attack. I’m not joking.
That really hurts! 😢….
I noticed that most people were judging the lady because of her bad English and Saying BSc in law mistake…..
I have different opinion…
That lady came up there to give one but only testimony…. Just one…
“I am the only PERSON TO GRADUATE FROM MY FAMILY”
To her, it was a jinx and she managed to break it against all odds..
Unfortunately for her…that same testimony turned sour in her mouth..
The big question is…….
Is she a Graduate?
Yes is the answer….
Did she study law in NOUN?
Yes is the answer based on the evidence available…
Could her bad English usage and error of BSc be the basis to Invalidate her TESTIMONY?
No way….. And still no way….
She is No, 2262 on the Graduants list Published by NOUN…
how on earth was her TESTIMONY a lie?
Quite impressive
