INEC bows to pressure, begins upload of results

Nigerians on the night of the presidential and National Assembly election day in the country have taken to social media to pressure the Independent National Electoral Commission to fulfill its promise in uploading the results of the elections from different polling units across the country unto its server.

As of press time, the hashtag #Uploadtheresults had garnered over 26,000 tweets on Twitter and is currently one of the highest trends on the microblogging site.

However, The PUNCH has just reported that the electoral body has started uploading the results of the presidential election on its central server.

So far results from 2,611 poling units out of 176,846 had been uploaded as at the time of filling this report.
