France in Negotiation with Níger for troops withdrawal

Following 4 days of protests by thousands of Nigeriens against the French troops and ambassador, Emmanuel Macron has finally swallowed his pride and began negotiating a withdrawal with the Nigerien military govt.

The prime minister Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine confirmed this during a press conference.

They also spoke about their recent talks with Ecowas, and downplayed the chances of Ecowas deploying troops to Níger, claiming it was very very unlikely, and that Níger had enough to defend itself.

At the time of writing this tweet, Nigeriens are still camped outside the French embassy and military base, demanding the total withdrawal of French troops and the outlawed ambassador.
