The former Vice President of Nigeria and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate in the 2023 Election, H.E. Atiku Abubakar and the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminialayi alongside Gov. Peter mba adorned the PDP campaign regalia while throwing their weight behind Asue Ighodalo.
This comes as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister, Nyesom Wike is believed to have thrown his weight behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Monday Okpebholo, ahead of the September 21, 2024 gubernatorial election.

In what could be described as a show of force, the PDP has deployed its arsenal, with its presidential candidate in 2019 and 2023 leading the final onslaught against the Senator Adams Oshiomhole and Wike-backed candidate.
