“After my speech yesterday at the American University of Nigeria (AUN), Yola, in Adamawa state, I took time to visit the Almajiri children participating in the Feed and Read Program.
I spent time engaging with them to better understand what they are learning, and it was truly inspiring to see their progress.
From our interactions, it became evident that the program is transforming their lives—not just by improving their literacy and numeracy skills but also by boosting their confidence and reigniting their passion for education.
Programs like this highlight the crucial role of inclusive education in addressing societal inequalities and unlocking the potential of every child, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Such initiatives serve as a powerful reminder of the impact we can make when we prioritize education as a tool for empowerment, growth and national development.
