Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has officially sworn in the newly elected Chairmen of the state’s 23 local government councils. The ceremony began at 4:20 PM on Sunday, following the successful conclusion of the local government elections held on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

Earlier in the day, the Chairmen received their certificates of return, marking the formal confirmation of their electoral victories. The swearing-in event was attended by notable dignitaries, including the Governor of Bauchi State and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum, Senator Bala Mohammed, alongside key political figures from Rivers State.
