Peter Obi , the former Governor of Anambra State and the 2023 Presidential Candidate for the Labour Party, is calling for increased investment in Nigerian youth.
Inspired by the stellar performance of Spanish teenage football sensation Lamine Yamal at Euro 2024, Obi, who served as governor from 2006 to 2014, believes that Nigeria can achieve similar success by nurturing its young talent.
How do you tell a great story?
You magnify it for all to see.
It all started as one of those his harmless tweets. Peter Obi in his usual fashion tried to draw a straight line between an intentional government, & talent discoveries.
He centered his post on the Spanish wonderkid “Lamine Yamal,” how sports development at the grassroots can turn around the fortunes of the youth demography.
Then the miraculous happened!
One of those hungry Children of the CORN strayed into the Obidient trap, by asking their usual silly questions.
What followed will shock you. I took out the time to put this thread together, to show Nigerians what went down.
We knew nothing about them (before, during, & after the 2023 campaigns). At first, they sounded outlandish. I thought the handles were some of those fake Agbados masquerading as Obidients.

I WAS WRONG! I had to do a little digging to verify most of the claims. What I found was astonishing.
Nnamdi plays for FC Astana. Chucks Okoye plays for Union FC Denmark.
Both are the products of Peter Obi’s love for grassroots sports as the Governor of Anambra state.
Go and Verify, we’ve only discovered 5% of his many wonders.
I googled further, & discovered that most the claims are true. We may never know everything he achieved in education, youth empowerment, health & in other HDIs.
But if I’m in his shoes, I’ll be beating my chest everyday, stomping the yard & tromping my feet.
I’ll be making some noise everyday, & disturbing everywhere.
Since I stumbled upon Twitter NG in 2017, I haven’t found anyone quite like him, & we’ve barely scratched the surface. That’s the thing about him.
He always knows the right things to do. However, he needs a good PR or media team for the next chapter.
Nigerians will do the rest for the “present dad.”
Being Obidient has turned my world into something. I certainly cannot explain it. I know I’m not trying to understand it. But like many of you, I’m just truly grateful that I’m one of those witnessing History.
Life & everything is persuasive, we have to be practical about these things. Never mess with a man’s reputation. That’s the much I can say.
Peter Obi is a blessing to Nigerians, & I hope we realize that?
