Is Religion really practiced wrongly in Nigeria?

Is it time for Africans, especially Nigerians to wake up and smell the coffee ☕?

It it time for Nigerians to understand that religion is actually not being practiced the right way in Nigeria?

Let’s discuss….. Keep an open mind as we would challenge some instituted status quo….rejig the religious mentality….

The tweet above is a statement reportedly from the Sokoto state governor about how decisively he would be on people that commit blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad bin Abdullah..

This is a state with Massive poverty, insecurity and challenges facing the good citizens of Sokoto state…

Sokoto state is just a single state out of many in the North who still prioritize this as their major challenge…

This governor hasn’t stated how decisively he would deal with the massive poverty, insecurity and other challenges but fighting for the Prophet is his major concern. (so unfortunate)

Let’s take a break from this Islamic religion and dive straight into Christianity…

“N3bn raised by well-wishers as Mercy City moves to build 500,000 capacity cathedral.

Colonial mentality. When churches abroad are busy winding up, we are busy building cathedrals . Who did this to Africans ?”. ( i don’t subscribe to the part of Churches Abroad winding up…. Churches shouldn’t be winding up… Churches should actually be strengthened but not the way Nigerians are doing it)…. We have enough already.

500,000 capacity capacity cathedral to be built and N3 Billion Naira was raised.. 😂

Imagine what would have happened to the members of this church if the N500bn would be used to empower majority of them with viable business startups. Imagine training the youths of this church with the right skills…? Imagine the effects of that raised amount in the lives of the members…

Mind you, this is just a singular church out of many in Nigeria raising Billions of naira to build more branch offices in the name of church..

No wonder they call it…. Ministry

Of course, it may actually be one of the industrial ministries for soul capturing….

I know some OVER RIGHTEOUS god of Men and their worshippers would say… So you want us to stop building churches for God…. Bla blaaa blaaaaaa..!!

This has nothing to do with the worship of God… Absolutely….

Pastor Lazarus Muoka of Lord’s Chosen revival movement has charged members to pray themselves out of difficult situations…

The question is… What’s the line between what People pray for and what they can actually do for themselves…..?

A renowned Prof. In chemical engineering, Prof. Chukwudi Mathew Menkiti had an opinion on that below..

“Dead formula.

While Muoka practically tackles his problems in appropriate physical manner, he wants member to pray out problems that require physical solutions.

Most challenges we have here are basic physiological needs, that need good and empathic govt led solutions, not spiritual ones.

Can anyone show me any country in the world that prayed his physical needs away? If prayer is our solution, Nigeria would be heaven. The most un-praying countries in the world had successfully provided solutions to those challenges Muoka is asking members to pray away.

These pastors misinform, and some time outrightly deceive their members.

Surely, Muoka and his family are rich, and can tackle those basic challenges with no prayers. Na poor church members, them dey tell pray every time, for solution wey no need prayers – Prof. Menkiti

More churches and Mosques would keep springing exponentially in Nigeria 🇳🇬 due to massive poverty….. Don’t make the mistake of thinking all of these religious body are solely for the worship of God…… Noooo way….. Majority are there to pray for breakthrough not salvation or Adoration to God…
