Brave Labour Party Rep. At PDP’s retreat receives applause with his submissions (video)

There was a melo-drama at the PDP’s retreat which took place in Bauchi state earlier today.

First, that meeting was supposed to also serve as an avenue for all the Minority members of the National Assembly to meet as well as PDP are the majority amongst the minority cacus.

In his words, “i bring you greetings from the Labour party, because, because of you we’re here. If the PDP did not make the mistakes it made, probably, the 35 house members elect in the coming 10th assembly would not have been,so thank you.

I also want to say another Thank you for bringing us to this retreat. I thought and my party thought we were coming for the retreat of the minority parties, which is actually What’s supposed to be.

We realized you’re having your indoor session which i am sure you’re having.

But because of time, I’ve been called upon to make this speech in one or two minutes and i am going to do just that.

Eeeh, the other minority parties are here, but i think what is binding us together is the fact that we are all in the opposition.

And being in the opposition doesn’t necessarily mean dissent, it simply means, keeping the governing party on its toes.

And if we can’t do that even from the simplest task, which is constitutionally assigned to us, talking of the House of Representatives, section 51(B) of the constitution which states that members are to chose speakers and deputy speakers from amongst themselves. Even before that function is Discharged, some people have chosen speakers and deputy speakers for us and we’re watching.

There’s an audio opposition, there’s a visible opposition. If the PDP is ready to lead the charge of a visible opposition, we’re ready to go along with them.

But,if they want to stay on the audio side and be an opposition party, then i can assure you, the Labour party, as small as we’re, just 35 member elect would lead the charge on behalf of the Nigerian people to create a New Nigeria. Thank you.

And By the way, Honourable Victor Afam Ogene, Ogbaru Federal Constituency and leader of the Labour party cocus house of Representatives. Thank you.
