OBI & LP v INEC, TINUBU, SHETTIMA, APC

Today is day 6 of the petition hearing, and here’s a summary of what has been happening outside the courthouse. Reflect on our journey so far to reclaim our mandate.
The legal team of the Labour party are fully seated. Peter Obi seems not to be coming today.

Please note that Obi’s presence in court won’t change the outcome of the case. He loves being at the hearing but doesn’t have to, especially if he has other engagements. His lawyers and supporters are here and that’s what counts. I just want to clarify that part.
The first case to be heard today is Allied People’s Movement v INEC, APC, Tinubu. Petitioner’s counsels are S.T Abubakar, Oluwafemi Awe Lukman,Tahiru ,S S Ajimade.
LP v INEC, Tinubu, Shettima & APC could be the third case to be heard today, so it’s going to be a long wait.
Outside the courthouse, the ‘palace guards’ are on standby as usual.
There was interesting argument in the APM case. The petitioner and respondents are arguing whether all the the election petition cases challenging Tinubu and Shettima’s emergence as the president and VP should be consolidated. Consolidation of cases is the administrative joining of separate cases into a single adjudication for all of the parties involved. This process could save all parties time in court. In the APM case, the respondents (APC, INEC and Tinubu) are opposing it. I wonder what they are afraid of.
