“Pure water” price hike driving people to dark days

The Association of Table Water Producers (ATWAP) has raised the price of sachet (‘pure’) water to N300 per bag.

Yes, portable water is now expensive such that average people currently struggle to drink water.

But wait!, prio to the advent of this “pure water era”, what were people drinking, how did people access portable water?

In Anambra state, it’s becoming increasingly crazy as a bag of Pure water could barley last for a day considering the size of your family.

This would help compound the exorbitant price hike of Bread 🥪 as well.

National President, Clementina Ativie made the announcement in a statement where the decision was unanimously reached during the ATWAP national convention in Abuja.

“There will be no extra bag or extra pieces henceforth for wholesale or retail buyers,” she said.

The President added that the cost of production had gone far beyond what they can bear.

She said the new rate would help them to keep up with bills and remain in business.

The statement appealed to citizens to be understanding and bear with the association.

Unfortunately, from our observations, so many families are reverting to drinking borehole water directly and some rain water without recourse to the effects thereafter.

Such a shame…. How on earth does this guys expect Nigerians to survive in this harsh economy?

People would definitely go back to drinking waters from the stream as most can’t afford the resources to boil water….

Nothing that goes up in Nigeria is most likely to come down anymore!
