Soludo Offers Amnesty to the “Brothers in the forest” as he seeks for end to sit-at-home

The executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo is currently trying all forms of conflict resolution theatrics in a bid to bring the enforced Monday sit-at-home in the state to an end. A sit at home practice which is gradually becoming a norm has crippled the economic activities of the entire South east.

Top of his steps to stop the menace was granting amnesty to the miscreants hiding in the bush and perpetrating crime. The entire governors of the South east expect Soludo seem to have thrown in the towel and accepted the order which IPOB hierarchy had severally debunked.

Someone would definitely bail the cat!

On the 4th of April, 2022, The governor of Anambra State, Soludo visited St. Joseph’s catholic Cathedral, Ekwulobia for prayers which he urged every citizen of the state to follow suit to mark the end of the sit-at-home.

After the prayers, he made the official statements below on his Twitter handle…

Following the unanimous agreement of our leaders across board, and the endorsement of the entire body of Christ, I am pleased to inform our people that today, Monday April 4, 2022 marks the official end to the “Monday sit-at-home” in Anambra State.

Shortly, I will be announcing the membership of the Peace and Reconciliation Committee that will look into addressing all areas of sincere challenge, including interfacing with the Federal Government on behalf of all Prisoners of conscience.

I have also offered Amnesty to all our brothers in the various forests around us. Give us your guns, and trust us to help you forge a meaningful living.

The task of taking back our dear State and reclaiming the dignity of our collective existence is at the heart of our drive towards a Liveable and Prosperous Homeland. This task is a MUST.

I call for your support and prayers, as we have resolved to fiercely go after criminal elements who are out to threaten our peace and distort our development.

Anambra is the Light of the Nation, we must keep it so.

….

Of course, several individuals especially those not resident in the state had their own view to this. Some lauded it a good step whilst some negated.

I would have to say this, Soludo is exploring every avenue possible to get peace returned to the state and no reasonable people would accuse him tomorrow for not extending the hand of peace.  Nnamdi Kanu’s release is also very paramount in his agenda as only negotiations and plea bargains can let Nnamdi Kanu out not sit at home and destruction of lives and properties in the state……… I sincerely pray and wish our kids return back to school on Mondays. They would write same external exams with the rest of the nation’s kids regardless and had always missed WAEC exams done on Mondays..

Evil is Evil and no government should romance evil……. Allowing this sit at home to continue would degenerate to Anarchy where Unknown criminals would take over the State’s affairs and dictate for citizens how to live their lives…….

My mind spoken…..
