Popular Nigerian super star, Davido who earlier raised raised 250M from friends for his birthday and later announced that he realized N200 from the Donation and added N50M naria , Gives All To Orphanage Homes across Nigeria.
The star singer had gone ahead to constitute a 5 man committee to aid in even distribution of the donations to charity across the nation.

DONATION OF NGN 250, 000,000 TO ORPHANAGES ACROSS NIGERIA.
I wish to express my sincere gratitude to my friends, friends, colleagues, fans and the public for the generous expression of love. In recent days, in my usual playful manner, i requested a few days ago that my friends and colleagues send money in celebration of my birthday.
The response and outcome exceeded my expectations, as i received about N200, 000,000 in less than 2 days. I truly appreciated everyone who donated hard earned funds and i am very thankful to your generosity.
I have always been passionate about giving back and helping my people. In view of this, i am delighted to that all the funds received totalling, N200, 000,000 will be donated to charity across Nigeria as well as Poroche Foundation. In addition, I will be making a personal donation of N50, 000,000 (fifty Million Naira) bringing the total amount to N250M.

To oversee the distribution of funds to beneficiary,i have established a 5-person disbursement committee. Members of the committee include :
1. Mrs Titi Adeboye – Chairman of the Committee
2. Prof. Jonathan Nwosu – secretary to the committee
3. Prof. Yahana Joel Asabe of the Northern Nigeria seventh day Adventist union conference.
4. Pastor (Dr.) Oyelabu of Spring Time Development Foundation (SDF).
5. Prof. Uloma Onuoha
The committee would compile a list of all the Orphanages across Nigeria. They will determine the number of children and their needs at each Orphanages and then divide the fund accordingly. The committee will also determine the amount of money that would be donated to Poroche foundation.
To maintain transparency, the committee would make public the names of the beneficiary and how much each will receive. A list of all the beneficiaries and their verified account details will be submitted to Wema Bank, who will be instructed to credit each beneficiary’s account.
My goal is to do this fund raising every year to celebrate by birthday and give back to people in need. It’s my hope that friends, fans and colleagues in the industry and the public will continue to support me to drive this course.

This young man has done something so noble that he might not understand the enormity of what he has started…. This is what our leaders and government couldn’t do…. Even at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, common noodles 🍜 were donated, not mentioning the huge funds, and yet, they hoarded it and rather used it for personal birthday gifts and sold many……….. Just imagine what Davido has done with a whopping 250M naira………… May God help us to learn from this and give back no matter how little to the society.
