Are the Government really telling us the truth about this COVID-19 in Nigeria?

It’s no longer news that Corona Virus (COVID-19) has crippled almost every human activities globally and still ravaging.

Since the break out of the pandemic from Wuhan China, many countries such as Italy, Spain, Brazil, Germany and currently USA have really recorded a substantial death toll ever since as many who tested positive to the virus have also recovered.

Would i say so about Africa and especially Nigeria?…. I strongly have my doubts….

Here are my reasons……

In Nigeria my country, we were told an Italian expatriate who arrived the country enroute Ogun state brought in the virus and was conveyed with an Uber guy to Ogun state who supposedly had some contacts with him and thus is expected to have contacted it as well.

Most Nigerians came out to ask some cynical questions in serious doubts over the claim especially when the supposed Uber guy came out to refute the claim.

Our doubts and fear started building up from there……

Later, it was reported that the Italian whose identity was so concealed had been discharged having tested negative to the virus.

After this , heavy amounts of money were reportedly disbursed as to aid contain the virus…… We don’t actually know what’s that fund is meant for or how they intend to use it….

As at this morning, no one can actually tell which hospital to go in every state in Nigeria as to test for the virus….

They keep telling us how to avoid contacting the virus but never have they told us how to curb it or where to test for it.

So many incongruous statistical data about the confirmed cases by states in Nigeria have also emerged and the numbers keep increasing exponentially with reckless abandon.

Read this below…

Coronavirus statistics in Nigeria

Study the above statistical data carefully and notice the obvious disparity in figures…..

Above, from NCDC, the total confirmed figure is 27 persons as at the time of this report with Lagos recording 19 as the highest figure followed by Abuja,3.

One would easily believe this data as it looks attainable not withstanding that no one has openly come out to say he or she has ever visited the hospitals or the Quarantine zones where these individuals are actually receiving treatment.

Channels TV news displayed the most annoying data this morning which shows the confirmed cases to be 472….

(as much as this above figure is an excerpt from Lassa Fever, Channels Tv editors had to put it up)

The figures are not only laughable but unsubstantiated and misleading……

Why are they doing this?

Why…..?

This would only go on to explain why some Nigerians ain’t taking the government seriously especially when the president hasn’t uttered a word of address to the citizens.

They are more concerned about clamping down on churches, event centers, malls etc but never bothered to check on the Transportation system where the major issue lies…

Do you know of any single Hospital where one would go to check for this disease?

Do you know of any quarantine place in any of the states?

Have you seen any place or centers where one would get hand sanitizers free or relatively subsidized?

What exactly would you say the government is doing with the heavy funds disbursed for this?

Rumor had it that LUTH was doing the test for N1.2m last week. Most people couldn’t afford the test unless NCDC comes to their rescue……. Though they had refuted the claim.

In a time like this, inflating figures ain’t what we expect……

Anambra records one case…. Where in Anambra is the person currently? Where was the person tested?

I do not know what to believe anymore and certainly don’t want to believe the figures am seeing.

Having said all, i would sincerely appeal to the respective state governments to please make sure they actually have a confirmed cases before reporting it not reporting suspected cases as this inflated reports are putting more fears to the public and causing more panic.
