#RenewedShege : Nigerians Groan as Fuel Prices skyrocket

Even as the matter is still in court, Bola Ahmed Tinubu starts off with a controversial note after he removed the fuel ⛽ subsidy.

The ripple effects became evident immediately as Petrol marketers took advantage to hike their prices.

Do we still have DPR in this country?

“Akụkọ n’egwu”…!!

Listen, most of  Tinubu’s supporters have argued that “Shebi Peter Obi and Atiku” said they would remove subsidy as well?

That’s what you get when you copy someone in Exam hall and copied the Reg. Number as well.

How on earth would you announce a fuel subsidy removal from day one without first investigating to know how best to cushion the adverse effects.

Oh, he wants to be seen as very active!

“mmanwụ́”..!!!

Ordinarily, he ought to enter first, have intensive meetings with his economic team before making such pronouncements.

Now, let’s get Back to the brass tacks…

The essence of Government is to make Policies as any bad or rash policy made would have effect on the citizens..

This is Tinubu’s first error…

MY TAKE ON SUBSIDY REMOVAL

There is absolutely NO reason to have made the declaration on subsidy removal on the Inauguration.

Should subsidy be removed? Yes. But the actual consumption of PMS should have been established first.

Establishing our actual PMS consumption would have enabled us to justify the current cost of PMS subsidy before taking a decision to remove it. This would have boosted public confidence and resolve towards its removal. But do they care?

Secondly, the issue of oil theft is yet to be addressed. Have they stopped that one? And why haven’t they?

We need to know the people involved.

Thirdly, the condition to remove subsidy was that the refineries should be operational. Dangote Refinery would be operational soon.

Is it the subsidy that Federal Government would pay in the next few months that will sink the economy?

Lastly, no reasonable government would remove subsidy 100% at once. It is just pure madness. It has to be phased away bit by bit.

They could have started with 25% deduction,

then progressed it quarterly within a space of one year to allow the economy absorb the shock. But taking it off completely is just madness. But what do we know?

Cashless policy affected the people that matter so they removed it claiming that the poor people were being affected.

So tell me, which policy would bring more suffering to the poor, subsidy removal, or cashless policy?

Welcome to Nigeria, where common sense never makes sense.

Petrol Prices hiked to 750 per liter after Tinubu’s infamous Subsidy Removal

The funny thing is….. Everyone is going to feel the heat together..

Cost of transportation would rise, cost of food, Running of Generator, almost everything in Nigeria is dependent on Fuel ⛽…

Lagos state is already feeling it harder as commuters appear stranded.
