Unizik VC, Esimone sets to win the battle of “unpaid staff” debacle

The long awaited sun at the end of the tunnel is about to be seen. The tears, pains and depressive moments are about to be wiped out imminently.

Not too many persons may have known the sacrifices made by the Vice Chancellor of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University AwkaProf. Charles Okechukwu Esimone, FAS towards making sure that the ill-fated uncaptured staff of the great institution becomes a thing of the past. Only if he had the powers or the magic wand to do that easily without so many bottlenecks.

You’d recall that, the Federal Government had announced the removal of the tertiary institutions from IPPIS Payment platform.

That singular news did not only bring so much relief to the uncaptured staff and the Vice-Chancellor, it was like a wave of fresh air to everyone concerned.

Atleast, he could rest from such nightmare of watching the people he employed without getting paid for close to 4 years, so he thought anyways.

Like King David in the Bible, Professor Esimone danced lavishly at the award ceremony of the institution at December, 2023 while reassuring the entire staff of the institution that God has finally answered the prayers of the unpaid staff of the institution.

Little did he know that the tiny drops of rains on the rooftop are yet to get dried up.

Yes, the final battle for the final enrollment is yet to be won…

However, the vice Chancellor sprung into actions, visiting Abuja like it was a 2km journey at intervals.

It is obvious that this could be the best outing legacy he would be getting from God afterall aside the amazing jobs he did at the institution over the last 4 years of his occupation as the head of the prestigious institution.

It would be noted here however that Unizik is not the only institution affected by this IPPIS issues but Unizik has been at the forefront of getting her own staff sorted out.

Indeed, it’s well as both the uncaptured staff and The Vice Chancellor would definitely smile at the end of the day.
