Unizik students stage a protest in Retrospect to the death of their colleague (Pictures)

The Students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, UNIZIK, Awka, today, took to the streets to protest the death of their colleague, a final year student of Microbiology, Francis Mmadubuobi who died at the school’s clinic moments after he slumped watching a Basketball game.

There has been speculations that Francis, who was about to write his final paper died due to the nonchalance and incompetence of the workers at the schools medical center. Reports from various sources reveal that there was no doctor at the clinic as at the time the late student was rushed to the centre.

Meanwhile, the school management, in a statement released Monday morning, refuted the above claims saying the late Francis died before he even arrived the clinic.

Reports reaching us has it that the school authorities prevented the demonstrating students from entering the school gates as they planned to take the protests to the administrative building.

However, the protesters made their way to the premises of Anambra State Broadcasting Corporation, ABS.
