#TransportAnalysis :The Groaning Pains of an Average Nigerian driver

Nigerians (aside politicians) are currently facing the most difficult moments of their lives which was further exacerbated by the fuel ⛽ Price Increase by the NNPC.

A transporter in kaduna shares his depressive experience on how much they now make in a day…

Kaduna transport Analysis:

I buy 4 litres of fuel for my Liteace Toyota bus at the rate of 1200/Litre if i dont wish to queue at Mega filling station totalling 4,800 Naira.

I pick up 10 passengers from Kawo to Sabo at the rate of 600 Naira per person
600X10 = 6,000 Naira

Profit = 1200

A single trip takes approximately 2hrs from passengers call and other stops.

Inside the profit, I pay ticketing and parking fee of approximately 400 Naira

Balance brought down 800 Naira.

Me and my conductor are yet to eat breakfast and we have to run another trip in order to see a daily bread.

End.

My boss: this is my Kaduna analysis.

I dont want to do Lagos analysis because those ones are Angel in disguise.

Dont forget we have 24 hrs in a day.

Average transporter run for 10hrs a day which brings us to another average of 6 round trip aproximating daily profit of 5,000 Naira if wear and tear + maintenance does not happen.

If I have a family at home to feed:

Full family loaf: 1,800
Tea pack: 2,000
Madam abeg: 1,000
Children abeg: 1,000
Bills: god abeg

E no easy oooo.

Make we dey calm down…

Note: We will not just depend on tea and bread.

We need to eat balance diet food oo. When she cooks soup and make jellof rice, we hit debt and if we have plans to pay for September school fees and others, we will be receiving calls and threat from loan sharks already.
