To Positively impact the Society, ACT Foundation announces the Commencement of its 2018 Grant Cycle

Inspired by an unmatchable success rate during its first year of existence, Nigeria’s grant-making non-profit, Aspire Coronation Trust (ACT) Foundation has announced the commencement of its 2018 grant cycle.

The 2018 grant cycle which began with the call for application on Friday, December 1st, 2017 will enable the foundation select credible non-profit organisations to partner with in the coming year in order to positively impact the society. The grant cycle which also includes a call for proposal will only be extended to organisations that have been successful in the call for application stage.

The 2018 ACT Foundation call for application which closes on Sunday, January 14th, 2018 is open to non-profits working in the areas of health, entrepreneurship, environment and leadership who are located and implement projects in not just Nigeria but Africa at large, with a special focus on West Africa.

CEO, ACT Foundation, Osayi Alile who spoke about the call for application shared some insight into the 2017 grant cycle and noted how far reaching its impacts have been.“Though our first year of operation, the 2017 grant cycle exceeded our expectations. We were able to partner with 22 organisations implementing initiatives across 23 states which will in turn impact on the lives of over 65,000 people”.

Speaking about the 2018 Grant cycle she added “We are aware of what we can do and the thousands of lives we can impact on, so the 2018 grant cycle is aimed to spread across Nigeria. So far the response has been amazing. We have received applications from countries across Africa and we are happy at the prospect of launching into Africa”.

At ACT Foundation, health intervention is at the core of its work as they fund non-profits interested in the areas of prostate, breast and cervical cancers, malaria as well as maternal health and young child feeding. Entrepreneurship interventions are targeted at financial literacy and vocational skills acquisition and leadership development across different sectors. The alarming state of our environment was instrumental in the foundation’s interest in preserving the environment through waste management.

Also speaking on the 2018 grant cycle, Founder and Executive Director, Postpartum Support Network, Onyedikachi Ekwerikeexpressed his joy in being a 2017 ACT Foundation grantee. He said “There are donors and there are partners, ACT Foundation is a partner. They go just beyond giving grants, they are genuinely interested in the projects they fund and the people who run the projects. They have also been instrumental in capacity development for their grantees and partnering with them has been the highlight of my 2017”.
