The Sound bites from Tinubu’s Voyage to France

What will Nigeria gain from Bola Tinubu’s visit to France? There is no clarity from the joint press statement by Macron & Bola.

Just soundbites, no concrete commitments in:

1. Power.
2. Education.
3. Agriculture &
4. Energy Security.

No Foreign Direct Investments announced?
Just UBA/Zenith Bank, & Photo opportunity?

No concrete commitments, zero deals. Tinubu is the father that came back to his children, empty-handed. At least Sanofi should return to Nigeria. Letter of Intent is no commitment.

He flew to France to secure deals for Zenith Bank & UBA; is that it? Minister Wale Edun could not do that at French Embassy in Nigeria?

Senegal, Chad & Niger have cut military ties with the French. Chad ended its defense agreement with France (the same day that Bola Tinubu came visiting). Senegal is the latest girlfriend to announce the closure of French military base in their country.

Nigeria is now the new bride. Emmanuel Macron is looking for new allies in West Africa, & Nigeria is perfectly suited for that mission.

With the wave of anti-French sentiments sweeping across the ECOWAS sub-region, France found itself increasingly isolated.

Nigeria is Anglophone, but Bola is pursuing a Francophone Agenda. Ordinarily, that shouldn’t raise an eyebrow. But France is not a good suitor. Chad, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger & others will disagree with Bola’s Tinubu’s Agenda.

Appointing Abiola’s Son as SSA on Linguistics & Foreign Matters is a testament to the new found courtship between Macron & Tinubu.

But there is a catch. Before the White House Military Office fuel Air Force One for int’l travel, there must be goals & objectives to be achieved. The presidential fleet is not a toy.

BAT left Nigeria, he fueled the jet & spent millions of taxpayers monies only to sign UBA & Zenith bank agreements. Where are the French companies? Is Sanofi returning to Nigeria?
Where are the concrete commitments?

Don’t tell me MOUs & pledges, those are toilet paper, flush them down the toilet. Where are the French Investors? I did not see any investment announcement(s) from France.

Maybe Gilbert Chagoury is a paper weight after all. I combed through the media channels of the government of Nigeria & France, & I did not see any benefit(s) to Nigeria. Have you seen any? Can you point me in the right direction?

Abi na the pidgin English we go chop? 😅😅
