Ludo Championships set to debut in Lagos

The maiden edition of the Ludo National Championships is set to hold in Lagos  from July 18 to July 23. The Organisers, Mrs Olaide Graham, the Chief Executive Officer, Gbolad Continental Venture, said this during a news conference on Wednesday in Lagos. A two-storey building has collapsed in the Palm Grove area of Lagos State, authorities said on Wednesday. The affected building said to have been abandoned is located at No 15, Oke Arin Street, Ilupeju Palm Grove. Confirming the incident in a statement, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said the structure collapsed to ground zero in the early hours of the day. Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, on Sunday, rescued an elderly woman who was trapped in a building, at Oluwaga in Ipaja, Lagos, following the weekend downpour in the area. According to LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Dr Oluwafemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the agency responded to a distress call concerning the incident after which it activated its men to rescue the woman who was the sole occupant of the building. Four bodies have been recovered from Friday’s boat mishap at Ojo area of Lagos. The four bodies, part of passengers in a W19 fibre boat carrying 16 passengers were recovered at Mile 2 area on Saturday. The boat capsized on Friday night.
