The University of Lincoln, United Kingdom, has suspended embattled former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, whom it recently appointed as a visiting professor, Corporate and International Linkages. This comes amid charges against Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice Nwanneka for allegedly conspiring to traffic a child to the European country for organ harvesting. Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu, 55, and Ike Ekweremadu, 60, both from Nigeria, have been remanded in custody and will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court later today. They are both charged with conspiracy to arrange or facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation, namely organ harvesting. The Met said a child has been safeguarded. Protesting members of staff of the National Assembly (NASS) have blocked the Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu from entering the Senate Chambers. The workers are currently protesting what they said “is unpaid wages and lack of due promotion’’. Some of the workers claim they are being owed wages from as far back as 2010.
