The Governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara has refused to renew the appointment of the chairman of the Rivers State council of Traditional Rulers.
According to the Governor, the ousted chairman produced a 2024 calender without the picture of the Governor nor the Deputy Governor which clearly shows he is not ready to work with the state government.

It was also noted that the chairman is Wike Royalist.
And the Governor wrote below :
“We have appointed a new Chairman of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers in order to sustain the prevailing peace in our communities and uphold the dignity of our traditional institutions.
It became imperative for us to appeal to the traditional rulers to ensure peace in their domains and to use the opportunity to appoint Ohna Apara, Eze Chike Worlu Wodo, as the new Chairman of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers.”
