Dear Fellow Rivers People,
I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. Today, I stand before you as the newly elected Speaker of the 10th Assembly of Rivers State House of Assembly, humbled by the trust you have placed in me to lead our great state.
It is with a heavy heart and a deep sense of responsibility that I address you regarding recent events in our esteemed Assembly. As your chosen representatives, we have a sacred duty to uphold the values of integrity, accountability, and dedication to public service.
Regrettably, it has come to my attention that some members of our Assembly have fallen short of these principles. In light of their actions, which undermine the trust and faith you have bestowed upon us, I have taken the difficult decision to suspend the defaulted members from their legislative duties.
Rest assured, this decision was not made lightly. We are committed to ensuring that the Rivers State House of Assembly continues to be a beacon of hope and progress for all our people. We will work tirelessly to restore your trust in our institution and fulfill the promises we made to you.

Through his official X handle, the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara has congratulated the new Speaker.
In his first Assignment, Rt. Hon. Edison-led faction has impeached and suspended the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the other faction, Rt. Hon. Martins Amaewhule (Obio-Akpor 1) and Rt. Hon. Dumle Maol (Gokana 1) respectively.
In addition, it is also reported that the factional Speaker has also suspended the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Justice Chibuzor Simeon Amadi, and forwarded a report to the Governor to appoint another in Acting Capacity.
It can be recalled that the Martin Amaewhule faction allegedly backed by the FCT Minister and former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike earlier this morning suspended Ehie Edison (Ahoada East II), Sokari Goodboy Sokari (Ahoada West), Adolphus Oruibienimigha (Opobo/Nkoro) and Victor Oko Jumbo (Bonny).
The Amaewhule-faction also presented an impeachment notice on gross abuse of office by Gov Fubara, which was moved by Sunday Nwankwo (Omuma) and supported by all sitting 23 members of the House.
GOSSIP SESSION :
The machineries of Rivers state as known are infiltrated by loyalist of Wike. The current Rivers state Governor has now taken the first major step in show casing his powers by facilitating the suspension of the current Chief Judge with immediate effect.
Reliable sources say the current chief judge who is loyal to Wike was on standby in the middle of the night to support the impeachment of the Governor. We will keep monitoring the situation.
