This could arguably be the worst election Nigeria may have witnessed since independence as Mahmood Yakubu and his INEC seems to have thrown caution to the wind.
Against all odds, Mahmood Yakubu went ahead to defy INEC’s own electoral law, totally ignored and bypassed the constitution to decry his preferred Candidate while asking aggrieved Nigerians to GO TO COURT.
However, they are insistent on swearing their Selected candidate in on the 29th of May, however, below are the likely consequences of going ahead with such unholy declaration and hand over.
What may likely happen if INEC 2023 Presidential Election Verdict Stands !

1) Banditory, terrorism & kidnapping will excallate till 2027 since it is believed that proceeds from ransome are used to fund elections & related inducements.
2) Localized thuggery, intimidation in schools, religious centres, market & work places, will become legitimized because it will be referenced as _the method that produced for us our next set of leaders in a 21st century Nigeria_
3) We’ll experience more ‘strongmen’ than ‘strong institutions’ since one strongman & some strong governors (in Rivers, Kaduna, Edo, Kogi, Imo, Ekiti etc) had their ways, buying over INEC, The Security & other agents of state with monies & threats, while we were busy worrying & watching against electorates’ vote buying & selling!
4) Impunity of the highest order will be the case in government. There can’t be contestation or democratic checks-n-balances that other arms/tiers of govt provide in an _emilokan_ style government. Budget & its ‘padding’ will be _emilokan_ determined, NASS, will be _emilokan_, Judiciary will be _emilokan_ states & LGA functions will be _emilokan_; infact no one dares ask questions or interfer because all policy decisions will be _emilokan_ stamped/sealed!
4) In all these, we should be prepared to pity the place of the media, journalism & CSOs the most. There’s high tendency that with Onanuga, Keyamo, FFK coming to join Lai & Garba on the throne of information management for an _emilokan_ govt. the media (social & othordox) will not just be gagged, but any perceived decenting voice will tactically be descended upon!

5) Stealing, cheating, falsifications in public & private circles will become legitimized _outside of law!_ Even school children will begin to blame exam malpractices on NYSC adhoc staff & Profs of INEC who are not being penalized for interfering with & mutilating election results.
6) More Nigerians will
hunger to leave the country! More will disown their citizenships! There will be more agitations, more cecessionists, more ethno-religious sentiments & fears, more nepotism & more general distrust & uncertainty about the country!
7) This will then bring an end to the culture of elections & voting in this country. For elections: credible citizens will no longer be interested in vieing for positions; only rogues will be..! For voting: more people will distant themselves from the exercise; those who may want to partake due to inducements will build a culture of ‘arming self’ against violent attacks! More & more people will jettison our elections (which has now been confirmed as $elections) therefore taking us years backwards from civilization!

This is exactly what His Excellency Datti means when he mentioned “the end of Democracy in Nigeria”. Our highly learned ‘lords in the judiciary’ should be careful not to let this go the whole hug! Lots of people fought for our nascent demoracy by making sure the electoral act passed into law! Even as impunitive as PMB may have appeared to have been in his reign in government, he still gave his regime that one aspect of credibility by signing the act into law for the deepening of our democracy & development of our country!
One would assume it is the imprint in his heart created by the kind gesture made by GEJ when he deviated from the notorious character of the average Naija politician in 2015 (congratulating his opponent before the end of counting to avoid commotion), that kept inspiring him (PMB); hence his insistence on leaving Nigerians a lasting legacy as he departs from office later this year. But the force of _emilokan_ and the ‘strongmen’ confraternity pulled his good & fulfulling thoughts & intentions out of his guts.
Alas, we still have you – Dear ‘lords in the Judiciary’! We are not breathing over your neck as some agents of this horrible future we foresee now protest! No, we are not threatening you! We are only (simply) appealing to you not to legitimise wrong and evil; not to give power to falsehood by endorsing a system and an exercise that refused to follow its own set-rules to present to us a leader.
