Peter Obi Heaps Praises on Prof. Kingsley Ekwueme, Re-echoes on importance of Quality Education

His Excellency, Peter Obi has praised the Amazing Prof. Kingsley Ekwueme, the consultant Urological and Robotic Surgeon.

He wrote below :

“The inspiring story of a Nigerian Consultant Urological and Robotic Surgeon, Prof. Kingsley Ekwueme, reminds us of the critical role of education in human and national development and bears striking testimony to the beauty of the New Nigeria we are all aspiring to build together.

Prof Ekwueme, a United Kingdom-trained consultant urological, laparoscopic, and robotic surgeon has recently partnered with Reddington Hospital in Nigeria to provide laparoscopic surgery for Nigerians battling with prostrate issues.

In one of his interviews, Prof Ekwueme spoke of his desire to help Nigerians enjoy good health, which he said, motivated him to move from the UK to Nigeria. As I have maintained over the years, which is now exemplified by Prof Ekwueme, that with good governance our brain drain today is our brain gain tomorrow. Ekwueme who migrated to the United Kingdom many years back, now leverages his foreign education, knowledge, and global healthcare experience to bring a better approach to prostrate management through laparoscopic surgery in Nigeria. I also continue to remain firm on my position that governments, at all levels, must aggressively invest in, and prioritize education as a critical tool for human and national development.

The more educated the people are, the more developed the nation is. The education received by Prof Ekwueme is contributing to the development of the United Kingdom and Nigeria. I am, thus, emboldened to encourage our many adventurous youths who desire to seek global knowledge and opportunities to explore the world, develop their skills, return home, and join us in building a better nation, a New Nigeria that will be beneficial to all. A New Nigeria is possible with our collective efforts. -PO
