In a move towards supporting healthcare infrastructure in Nigeria, former Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, visited the Immaculate Heart Specialist Hospital in Nkpor, Anambra State yesterday, with substantial financial support.
With an eye on the Human Development Index (HDI), Mr. Obi, known for his commitment to Nigeria’s progress, presented a cheque of $50,000 and N15 million to the hospital.
The $50,000 donation originated from the benevolence of Prof Philip Ozuah, a close associate of Mr. Obi, renowned for his dedication to societal betterment. Mr. Obi, equally passionate about fostering positive change, contributed N15 million from his personal funds to further the cause of healthcare at the critical facility.
“Encouraging more investment in our health sector, especially at the primary healthcare level, is critical to the development of any nation. A healthy nation, they say, is a wealthy nation. Governments at all levels, therefore, must prioritize investment in the health sector,” emphasized Mr. Obi during his visit.
