The United Kingdom Chapter of Unizik Alumni recently held its first general meeting after nominating interim executives to pilot the affairs of the Alumni.
The idea was born when a group of graduates let by Gozie Okaro (Ochudo) sold the idea to Stanley-Pio Onwuzuruike and Ezeugonnaya Onyeje which led to convincing of other Zikite’s in the United Kingdom including Chukwuemeka Aginam who was already building a group of Mass Communication Graduates of Unizik Extraction in the UK.
The current interim executives are;
Interim President: Stanley-Pio Onwuzuruike
Interim VP: Chinyere Bright
Interim Secretary Gen: Emeka Aginam
Interim Assistant Secretary: Christine Success
Interim Treasurer: Ken Udokwu
Interim Financial Secretary: Gozie Okaro
Interim PRO: Chinedu Ogidi
Interim PRO 2: Ignatius Majesty
DOS: Ezeugonnaya Onyeje

They have been given a 1 year mandate by the members to organize the alumni in the UK and build structures. The following committees have also been inaugurated;
A. Constitution drafting committee
B. Empowerment committee (Welcoming and Welfare sub committees)
C. Electoral committee
D. Legal committee
Interestingly, the empowerment committee is saddled with the responsibility of welcoming new alumni entrants into the UK and also assisting in their integration into the UK society while the Legal committee will assist with immigration issues and legal education of members.
