The National Assembly Management have informed the National Assembly Legislative Aides’ Forum (NASSLAF) of strict security measures put in place around National Assembly (NASS) in view of the planned nationwide protest, and have urged the Forum to bring the information to the attention of our members.

Accordingly, the following are security measures put in place for the duration of the protest, commencing on August 1, 2024:

1. Entry into the NASS Complex will generally be resticted to only NASS staff, legislative aides, and other essential service workers. In view of the heightened security situation, construction in NASS is paused, and site workers and others are restricted from accessing NASS.

2. There will be heavy deployment of security around NASS.

3. Entry into NASS Complex will be strictly based on presentation of identification card. Aides with Letter of Appointment or Temporary ID Card will not be allowed into the NASS Complex.

4. Aides are advised against accessing the National Assembly with visitors. It has been suggested that members of the National Assembly limit the number of visitors to NASS for the duration of the protest.
