JUST IN: Couple Who Brutalised 10-Yr-Old House Help Remanded By Enugu Court

The couple, Jude Ozougwu and Ifeoma, who allegedly brutalised the 10-year-old Nneoma Nnadi with pressing iron and nails, was on Monday, remanded by the Enugu State Magistrate Court.

The couple was arraigned before the Chief Magistrate Agu of Enugu North Court 1 sitting in the Enugu North Magisterial District by the state police command on three-count charge bothering on attempted murder.

The charge marked No MEN/298c/2020 is between the Commissioner of Police vis Mr Jude Ozougwu ‘m’ age 40 years and Ifeoma Ozougwu ‘f’ age 24 years.

Recall that the couple was arrested last Saturday by the state police command for allegedly torturing and drilling nails into the head of Nnadi.

She was subsequently rescued by the police.

ASP Daniel Ezea, Spokesman for the police command, said in a statement that the victim, Nnadi, was maltreated by her aunt whom she lived with.

She allegedly used different objects such as hot pressing iron, iron roads and nails to inflict injuries on the girl while also inserted pepper into her private parts.

Ezea said the couple lived in Thinker’s Corner, Enugu and were arrested after a tip-off.

He stated, “Following credible information received at Enugu Area Command on July 2, 2020 about 9am, alleging that a woman in Akonameze Street, Thinker’s Corner, Enugu, inflicted injuries on her minor female ward, operatives of the command swiftly moved to the area where they rescued the victim, Nnadi, aged 10. The suspect, one Ifeoma Ozougwu, 24; and her husband, one Jude Ozougwu, 40, were arrested.”

Recall that the Enugu State government on Sunday, announced an award of scholarship to university level to the victim.
