Abia state is a state in the south eastern part of Nigeria which ordinarily should be amongst the richest and most developed part of Nigeria. Unfortunately, that’s very far from the reality as Abia state is arguably one of the least developed state in Nigeria in all ramifications.
Abia state is more interestingly amongst the oil producing states in Nigeria which means, Billions of Nigeria is being pushed to the state’s coffers as part of the 13% derivative fund from the Federal Government.
What’s really wrong with Abia state?
Is Abia state cursed with bad leaders or the indigenes have refused to get emancipated?

Aside Billions of naira monthly oil allocations to Abia state, a serious state with Aba as a city should be self sufficient just from IGR from all the markets in Aba.
Aba is supposed to be the japan of Africa. The talents in Aba is undoubtedly the best you’d find in Nigeria when it comes to creativity or productivity yet bedeviled by severe bad roads and impoverished infrastructure.
Aba is fortunately and quite surprisingly well planned by the “Oyibos” as the city of Aba has well structured streets and avenues of which if the roads are fixed, Nigerians and Africa would pitch their tent at Aba in a bid to engage or benefit from their vast productive prowess.
Aria Aria market, “Ahia Ohulu” market, other big markets in Aba are simply amazing which its Internal generated revenue, IGR if well harnessed would boost their fund to help develop the state.
Oh my God…. I intentionally decided to stop posting more gory images from Aba. These are so appalling and so unbelievably the true state of Aba markets.
This is a state where Senator Orji Uzoh kalu was a governor for 8 years, handed the Barton to Theodore orji for another bizarre 8 years before handing the shambling Barton to Okezie for another 8 years.
24 good solid wasted years of Abia state developmental decline glaring on their sad faces.

Permit me to refresh your initial sad appetite of bad roads in Aba, Abia state with these beautiful scenery from Akwa-Ibom state.
Akwa ibom state is another oil producing state like Abia state with a glaring difference in developmental strides. Akwa-Ibom state is a model for other states to copy. The difference is clear. Cross River used to be this super clean and sophisticated until most recently. No thanks to Prof. Ben Ayade.
Before i conclude, Ebonyi State has no oil yet the awesome infrastructure in that state is enviable.
Most states in the south east are making progressive impacts in Infrastructural development aside Abia state.
This is such a shame.
Another opportunity is hear for “ndi Abia” to break the jinx and vote wisely or elect another mediocrity.
