Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS) which started in 2004 and later went off air in 2016 is set to be appear on TV screens once again.
The survival reality show was loved by many, and went on to become the most-watched reality TV series in Nigeria before its end in 2016.
The show was created and sponsored by Nigerian Breweries Plc, the company that manufactures Gulder larger beer.
The award prize rose from N3 million in the first edition to N10 million and a brand new SUV in the last edition.
The show will debut again in 2021 under the theme “The Age of Craftsmanship.”
Sade Morgan, the Corporate Affairs Director, Nigerian Breweries Plc, said: “We are really excited to be bringing back the Gulder Ultimate Search for the viewing pleasure of Nigerians who have over the years continued to call for the return of the show.

Key dates of the show
- Registration: opens September 1, and closes on September 8, 2021
- First screening: September 13 and 14 in Abuja and Enugu
- Second screening: September 16 and 17 in Lagos
- TV premiere: October 16 until December 19, when the grand finale will hold.
Eligibility
Applicants must be Nigerians between 21 to 35 years from September, 2021.
Applications will be submitted to www.gulderultimatesearch.ng. According to the organizers, applicants are required to
- Enter their personal details
- Take aptitude test
- Upload recent half frame photograph taken against a plain black background
- Prepare a 1 minute, full frame video of yourself stating why you should participate in this year’s Gulder Ultimate search (Hint: Remember to show your fitness level. Video should not be more than 20mb).
The show will be aired on DStv and other local stations across the country. The host of the 2021 show is yet to be announced, however the previous shows were hosted by Nollywood actors Chidi Mokeme and Bob Manuel-Udokwu.
Some of the previous winners who now have successful careers in Nollywood include Kunle Remi, 2010; Dennis Okike, Season 8, and Chris Okagbue, Season 10.
